Quakecon 2013 Dates Announced
Quakecon’s so old it can vote. Quakecon’s so old it can go to war and die for its country.
This August will mark the 18th annual Quakecon, held as usual in Dallas, TX, August 1-4 at the Hilton Anatole hotel.
No registration details have been announced yet, but if you plan on staying in the Anatole itself (instead of hiking a half mile across the parking lot in 105 degree Dallas summer heat), the special Quakecon room rate is now active for reservations.
I’ll make sure to point out when registration goes live, because if you plan on going I really recommend you buy a reserved seat in the BYOC. Not because you really get much for a basic registration, but if it works like last year, not buying a spot means you have to show up the day before the show opens and sleep in line for one of the free seats.
No really, read my post from last year. Unless you have time to wait half the weekend for a spot, buy one.
Walking around the vendor area and checking out the few demo stations for Bethesda games are free and open to the public, but the BYOC, the heart and soul of Quakecon, might as well not be anymore.
I still love Quakecon, but the days of just Driving down to Dallas and getting in are over.
