Music Monday: Mega Man 11
No, don’t get too excited. As far as we can tell Capcom still hates Mega Man for some reason.
While there might not be any Mega Man games on the horizon, one dedicated fan went ahead at produced a soundtrack for one anyway.
The Mega Man 11 Soundtrack Project is a tribute to a game that doesn’t exist. Professional composer Xavier “vm” Dang created the soundtrack using FamiTracker in an effort to keep the the tunes as close the the series’s NES roots as possible.
The full soundtrack, from the opening, through eight new robot masters like Sound Man and Dash Man, and even the Wily stages, is available for free from his Bandcamp page (but feel free to kick in a few bucks if you are so inclined).
I haven’t had a ton of time to listen to this (it did just release today), but here are a couple tracks I really like so far:
Devil Dash (Dash Man Stage)
Submerged Basement (Dr. Wily Stage 3)
And here’s the trailer for the whole thing that has a preview of several more tracks if you want to check that out.
