After 2 Years, Scott Pilgrim Gets Online Multiplayer (And Bonus Character)
In the past, we’ve seen games that get updates long after release, usually to fix menial problems that weren’t fixed before. This recently announced DLC for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game is different. On August 19th the comic-inspired brawler will finally get the oft-requested online multiplayer mode.
Yes, the upcoming DLC will fix this roughly two-year old problem, and allow people who aren’t sitting right next to each other to play Scott Pilgrim together. The pack will cost a few Microsoft points; 400 ($5) to be exact. But thankfully the DLC comes with another character to entice your purchase. Wise-cracking, boyfriend-stealing, lovable gay room-mate Wallace Wells joins the original 4-character cast. That might be reason enough for most Pilgrim fans that download the DLC; while Nega Scott and Mr. Chau are fun to unlock, getting a new main character from the movie/comic universe is awesome, especially Wallace.
So far only the release date of the XBLA update has been announced. Alex Monney, PR rep for Ubisoft, tweeted that details of the PSN version will come at a later date. If you’ve yet to pick this game up, hopefully this news will convince you otherwise.
