Quakecon Day One Wrap-up

Okay, this will have to be kind of short. Still not entirely settled.

I haven’t gotten into the BYOC yet. I talked to some of the people in line, and they had been there for more than eight hours. I’ll have a story on that when I have time to do some video editing.

Also, Carmack’s keynote was delayed, so he didn’t really get started until a little after 4:30. He spoke until after 8:00. He opened by apologizing for the PC version of Rage. I love that guy.

My one appointment from the day was with Plantronics. They were really cool and I’ll have a review of one of their headsets (and more that’s something something NDA) coming up soon.

This has been a weird day worthy of a longer article, and it will get one eventually. For now I have to save some laptop battery and find out which hotel room my group just moved to.

Godspeed, Hans. [salute]

He spoke for 3 hours? On what? How good they used to be? Rage was okay, but it wasn’t really Borderlands. And we could do with another solid multiplayer FPS. IBM just saying…

Adushan Says:

* I’m just saying.

Hans Wuerflein Says:

@Adushan: He actually mentioned that he wasn’t happy with the marketing, because they tried to make it look like Borderlands.

I’ll post either some highlights once someone uploads them, or the full thing with notes of where to skip for what topic.
