Music Monday: Peanut Butter and Bologna

Editor’s note: Jenny did an awesome job running our Music Monday column, but she’s taking a break. Therefore you get a glimpse at my odd musical tastes for the next few weeks, or until someone else wants to take over.

I can’t remotely begin to explain it, but I’m one of the people who think peanut butter and bologna work well together on a sandwich. Sometimes weird crap like this just works well together.

This week, I’m picking a few songs, some from videogames, some not, that when paired with certain games just, you know, work.

First up is a video I first saw when Gamespy EiC Dan Stapleton posted it on twitter. It’s just some guy’s FRAPS footage from the final boss fight of Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast paired with “Under the Sea” from The Little Mermaid.

I have no idea why I like this so much. I just do.

Next up is a video that uses music to make a point, that point being that Crysis‘s physics system is a buggy mess. Take one part “hey, look at this glitch” video and one part DuckTales soundtrack, and you get magic.

Lastly, both to provide the inverse situation of the first video (this time, game music with non-game video) and because I’ve somehow never posted this meme to the site, here is Guile’s theme paired with a touching moment from Maury.

So, anyone know of any other odd but awesome combinations?
