Ohmigodohmigodohmigod! Guys! Skylanders Giants has a release date!
The sequel to Nukezilla’s “RFID Action Figure Based Game of the Year” for 2011 (which I just now decided to award to it), Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure, will be hitting store shelves October 21.
Available as both a Starter Pack and a Portal Owners Pack, Skylanders Giants brings a new adventure, as well as a ton of new Skylanders to play as. There will also be the titular Giants, who are bigger special characters both in and out of the game.
Old Skylanders figures will work in the new game, including being able to level up higher. For the people who missed out the first time around (and to squeeze a few more bucks out of people like me) they’ll be releasing another series of the original characters, as well as some Light Core characters, who light up when placed on the portal and have special powers.

any news on whether this will be developed by Toys for Bob?
Yeah, it looks like they are. But it’ll probably be like last time where Toys for Bob developed the main game, but another studio (or two?) were involved in porting it to other systems.
