The Weekly Nuke: Diamond in the Rough

(Editor’s Note: I would’ve posted a clip from Aladdin, but it’s a Disney movie and I can’t find a version that will stay on Youtube for more than 15 minutes without being taken down.)

Okay, back for another round of The Weekly Nuke.

As the annual summer Steam sale is winding down, I got to thinking: what about the smaller, less well known games? No one gave them a chance at $60, but at five bucks, why not? Sure, no one gives a crap about most of them for a reason, but once in a while you can stumble onto something truly great.

For this week’s topic, I want you to think about the games you stumbled onto in a bargain bin, or on Steam or GOG or somewhere cheap, not really knowing what you were getting yourself into, and found something special. These games don’t have to be perfect, just something that surprised you with how well it played, how good its story was, or something else that set it appart.

Anyway, either post in the comments, on the forums, or if you’re planning a longer article you’d like us to consider for the front page, send it to tips@nukezilla.com with “Diamond in the Rough” somewhere in the subject line.

Also, like last week, I’ll pick what I think is the best post (or posts?) and give away some crap sitting in my Steam inventory fabulous prizes!

So, what game is your Diamond in the Rough?
