Music Monday: Disney/Capcom – DuckTales

Wait, didn’t I already do this?

Well, kind of. That Music Monday focused on several variations of the same song – and it’s such an awesome song – but I left the rest of Hiroshige Tonomura’s fantastic soundtrack by the wayside and never revisited it. Today, I change that.

The next few Music Mondays are going to spotlight some of the solid, catchy soundtracks produced by the Disney/Capcom partnership during the 90s. This week: DuckTales!

For those who haven’t played it – and shame on you! – DuckTales follows Scrooge McDuck as he searches for five legendary treasures spread across the globe. That’s it. NES, sometimes I miss your days of tight gameplay* and paper-thin stories.

African Mines

Himalayas

Transylvania

Amazon

Boss Fight

*Nostalgia Note: A good amount of NES games actually had terrible controls.

Peter Silk Says:

I’m glad you included the very short but much underrated african mines music. I like where the time signature goes all loopy in the middle there. My own chiptunes are VERY Capcom influenced, and this soundtrack is one of my favourites.

Racecars, lasers, areoplanes…it’s a Duckblur! Might solve a mystery, or rewrite history! Ducktales–woohoo!….

Thanks for that ;)
