Nintendo Releasing New Color of DSi XL

Really?

My former roommate has a DSi XL and he loves it, but really? Why now?

And Nintendo is charging $169.99 for it. The same price as a 3DS. You know, the one they’re trying to sell more of.

I guess it could steer the few people still thinking about a DSi XL toward a 3DS instead, but why would you release a new hardware SKU with the hope of it failing?

Hold on. I have an idea…

Dear Nintendo,

I am available, willing to relocate, and passed 3rd grade math. I think this makes me at least as qualified as whoever is in charge of deciding your pricing structure, and I’m willing to do the job for less. Much less. Like, beer money and someone’s couch to crash on less.

Nintendo just don’t know what the hell they’re doing with the 3DS, they really don’t. It’s probable that they had this new DSi XL planned and in production before the big 3DS price drop was decided, but even so. There’s no good reason for them to be doing this.
