Star Wars: The Old Republic to be Region Free

Bioware has announced that Star Wars: The Old Republic will not have any region or IP lockouts at launch.

There will still be the unavoidable issues of latency in some locals, but at least there isn’t any weird, self imposed blackout on any country.

It will also be interesting to see if gamers in countries that generally get screwed on game prices, like Australia, will try importing cheaper copies. Not sure if anyone would bother, but it would serve the local publisher right for keeping prices so high some places without reason for so long.
