What You Missed at EVO2K11 in Las Vegas

Another year, another EVO.
This year, the worldwide fighting-game tournament moved back to the Rio Casino, where Earth’s greatest combatants gathered to battle for the title of Champion in the genre’s most popular games.
There were some amazing matches this year — from a massive miscalculation resulting in loss by suicide, to an eight-year-old kid dispatching grown men and making it look easy. The hype levels were off the charts, as always, and the crowd’s energy during finals can still be felt coursing through the Rio’s halls.
If you ever have the means to make it to Vegas during EVO, it really is a great time and it exemplifies how unified the fighting game community is, despite thousands of miles between its members. If you’ve got even a passing interest in fighting games, you should try to make it out at least once.
There’s also a Burger King “Whopper Bar” there. It’s like, a bar, with beer, but you eat Burger King there.

People asleep on the floor make me LOL!
I think new fighting games should have running commentary. Imagine online battles! Someone, invent the AI and scripting and coding of things and do that now!
That is an awesome collection of photos. Kind of want to be there.
