Octodad 2 Makes Kickstarter Goal
As you may recall, the awesomely strange game Octodad was primed for a sequel, but needed a little help from the community. A Kickstarter project was set up, as one does these days, in an attempt to raise $20,000 for the game’s development.
With one day to go they have reached that goal, and then some. Most people have been kicking in enough to get a preorder of the game, or even a T-shirt. One generous supporter kicked in at least $1,000, both because they are awesome and to receive a 22″ x 34″ framed oil painting of the titular cephalopod.
Sadly, no one ponied up the $800+ necessary for the “New custom Octodad costume tailored to fit you or your cat.” I guess we’ll never know what unspeakable things some furry (would they still be a furry in this case?) would do with it. On second thought, that might be for the best.
The game is set to come out for PC and Mac, but any extra money they receive could possibly go towards iPad, XBLA or PSN ports.
So if you want to make things a little easier on the dev team or would just like to get an Octodad shirt, you’ve got until August 10 at 3:07 EDT to make your pledge.

Interesting.
Octodad released for free. Now, they are asking people who liked it to invest in the sequel. People are gladly paying for something that hasn’t even been made so that they can eventually get more of what they like.
Gaming payment methods are cool.
