PSN Maintenance Set for May 31st, Asian PSN Restoration Starts Tomorrow

The PSN will be undergoing maintenance this coming Tuesday, May 31st, 2011 from 7PM GMT until 1AM GMT.
That’s 3PM EST until 9PM EST. You can check other times here.
A forum post by a Sony community manager notes that during the downtime, the following services will be offline:
- PC Registration
- Console Storefront
- PS3 Account Management
- PS3 Network Account Registration
- PSP Network Account Registration
- Qriocity Account Management
Along with this, he says:
If you attempt to log in during this period you will receive the site maintenance notification page.
If you are already signed in during this period you should be able to stay connected and you will not lose your gaming session (however the above services will still be unavailable).
This has prompted rumours that the PlayStation Store will reappear when the downtime’s over, but Sony’s not said anything yet.
Along with this, Sony has noted that the PSN will start coming back online in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand tomorrow (Korea and Hong Kong have to wait longer). Legal issues had kept the service offline for longer, with the Japanese authorities ordering Sony to provide additional security assurances.
Users get the free 30 day trial to PlayStation Plus, free movie rentals as well as the four free games on the PS3 and PSP, listed below.
PS3:
- The Last Guy
