PSN “at Least a Few More Days” Away From Being Restored, Everyone Still Annoyed

As you may have noticed, we’ve stopped updating the Nukezilla Live Report on the PSN downtime. The simple reason for this is that the situation just isn’t changing. The PSN is still down with “a few more days” given as the official status, two days ago.

The company said a week ago they were in “the final stages of internal testing of the new system”. It’s obviously no small task, and even when the servers are online again, will be far from over.

Having been down for three weeks it seems many PS3 owners are giving up. Edge have an interesting report quoting a store manager who claims there’s been a doubling in the number of PS3s being traded in over the past couple of weeks and a slump in people buying PSN points cards.

At this point it’s not just gamers loosing patience. Talking to Industry Gamers, Q-Games’ Dylan Cuthbert said that “I have no idea yet what Sony are going to do to help developers such as ourselves but I have a feeling they are thinking about doing something or they will lose developers”.

Naughton Says:

I went back to the green team in early April, but if I hadn’t then, I would’ve by now. I have 3 friends who have traded in their PS3s and bought a 360 since April 20th, and If you’d asked them on the 19th, they’d say they were sticking with Sony for life.

But that’s an easy fix, I feel much worse for the developers being affected by all of this. Especially Zipper.

Faye Lanks Says:

Oh Sony, what are you doing…? you were doing so well and then you got cocky. Where has the modesty of your heyday gone? why can’t we all just go back to 2004 when you were doing so well with the PS2, or was it simply lack of competition that allowed you to thrive?

Adushan Govender Says:

But what about the Blu Rays?! The system will come back up and all those who traded their PS3 in disgust will wonder why they made such a kneejerk decision. Besides, how much could you get for the PS3 and games? I’m willing to bet about an Xbox and 1 game.
