This haiku is off
Its structure seems somewhat odd
Blame the editors.
I disagree with the choice your editors made to not swap line 3 and 2 so that each line is a concise idea. I understand it doesn’t necessarily need to be that way, but it is how I usually see them.
Point taken in full
Blame the source, not the filter
I am a fool, ma’am.
Admonishment received. Hopefully a colleague will be charitable and write a new one to replace it on the sidebar.
I meant no offense;
My remark was in ref’rence*
to an article
*the way I pronounce it it is only 2 syllables.
A Haiku battle;
Do you agree to the terms?
Engagements are swift.
Such feats are folly;
The sick fires I drop, puissant.
You can’t handle it.
If you pronounce “fire” with two syllables, then replace puissant with “strong”.
Is that a threat, sir?
When talking to a lady
Is that how it’s done?
Well despite your chide
I will not back down at all
No footnotes this time…*
*I’m having fun :)
What is this madness?
You damn kids, get off my lawn!
I bleed haiku. Cock.
I come from a land
down under, where beer does flow
and men chunder… Balls.
What? New challengers?!
Put differences aside,
we must combine strength…
I’ll never join you!
My skillz need no support:
I’m a pro poet
Forgetting me? Hmph.
An alliance cannot be.
Poets must wallow.
And yet… so tempting…
With our forces combined, we
are: Captain… damn it.
Patrick, think on it!
Disparate forces combined;
we can win HARDER.
And to John: beware.
My will is formidable,
as are my Haiku!
