GOG.com Finishes Site Update, Adds Dragonsphere For Free

At least they didn’t try a dumb PR stunt this time around.

Good Old Games, the retro retailer, has finished their Spring update that adds a PM system, an updated (optional) downloader, and perhaps most notably, the old point-and-click adventure game Dragonsphere for the low, low price of free.

The update to their downloader is in anticipation of the May 17 release of The Witcher 2 which, unsurprisingly, will be a much bigger download than their usual catalog of games from the days when a 500 meg install would have been cause for concern. As with all GOG’s games, The Witcher 2 will be DRM free if you buy it from them, but will carry the more modern price of $50 ($45 if you pre-order).

As for Dragonsphere, I haven’t had a chance to play it yet, but I have fond memories of pretty much every other game from the genre I’ve gotten my hands on, so for a freebie I don’t see how you can go wrong giving it a download.
