PSPgo is Dead, Nobody Attending Funeral
Like Frankenstein’s monster the PSPgo was an experiment for Sony. It tested the waters for a handheld solely relying on digital downloads. Unlike the 19th century fictional monster, it was a horrible and miserable failure with Sony today announcing it was killing the system.
After two years in production Sony told Japanese site AV Watch that in order to “concentrate on the NGP” they would no longer manufacturing or shipping the device. The remaining PSPgo’s would still be sold until gone, if you really have a desire to punish your fingers.
This might seem like Sony winding down the PSP, but they are still focused on the PSP-3000 saying “It will continue to be sold, and we will keep focusing our attention on it from here on out.”
I’m not surprised this has happened, in fact I’m more surprised it took Sony so long to kill the device.

The PSPgo is dead. Long live things better than the PSPgo, like mosquitoes.
Even weirder, Sony of America insist there is still a US market for the PSPGo… 9_9
