Bulletin:
Play Select Games And Portal 2 Will Be Released Sooner
I have no idea what’s really going on.
But apparently the Portal 2 ARG finished with a proposition: Play a load of the games in The Potato Sack (a collection of cool indie games, all currently on special offer and all updated with Portal 2 content in them) and Portal 2 gets released sooner. You can track the progress here.
Clever marketing? A terribly evil plan to make everyone pay Valve for games they don’t want in return for an apparently arbitrary release date to change? Waste of world resources? Who knows.
Portal Two, Po_ta_ T_o, Potato. Clever Valve.

I can’t imagine brick and mortar retail is going to like it much if this is unlocked more than a day early, even if digital is the future.
Aye, apparently they’re scrambling to get the products delivered sooner. Genius marketing, though. Wasn’t planning to get Portal 2 right away, and it’s downloading right now. Also, I’ve beccome very hyped for the game very quickly, and have caught myself scouring the internet for any footage I haven’t already seen.
“spend money on Steam in order to spend more money on Steam.”
I’m going with GiantBomb on this one.
