[Interpretive Dance] Crysis 2 vs. Homefront: First Person Dance Battle

Artist’s statement:

I just finished playing both Crysis 2 and Homefront single player campaigns in the same week. This dance reflects the personality of each title and my reaction to the developer’s creative decisions. Of course you may recognize the soundtrack which was used under Creative Commons license from the second Girl Talk album: All Day. Both games are a mashup of pop culture, action movies and intense American paranoia, hence the cliche mashup album du jour.

My movements are awkward and fueled with adolescent rage or a thirty something man-child trying to dance in da club. I wear patriotic colors to highlight each game’s focus on an attack on our Heartland, but I do so ironically. If I had the stamina and appropriate performance venue, this would be a 70 minute performance. I’m sorry you missed out on that glorious emotional tour de force.

This performance brought to you by Nukestravaganza III: Interpretive-Dance-And-Mime-apoluza.

Girl Talk FTW

Ace Flibble Says:

Several interesting ideas here, all brilliantly conveyed. I think Homefront may have just won this round.

Faye Lanks Says:

I disagree with you on some very fundamental points, mostly with your impressions on how the multiplayer balencing are a comment on american politics (1:23 – 1:54) but the frankly racist comments about koreans ( 2:56) are just uncalled for.

For shame, Brett, for shame.

I’m with @Faye Lanks, but she seems to have missed the blatant disregard or disrespect towards women clearly exhibited in 0:51-0:57. I am personally offended, and I can only hope that Faye Lanks is as well.

::shakes head:: I expected better from you, Brett.

Joe Says:

*slow clap*
