Minecraft Documentary Gets All The Funding it Needs

A month ago we brought you news of a documentary in the works. 2 Player Productions had started filming Minecraft: The Story of Mojang and were looking to secure $150,000 to fund the full, feature length film.

This morning their Kickstarter funding round closed with an impressive $210,297 in the bank. That total is the sum of 3,600 individual backers, each funding amounts from $1 all the way up to two people who each funded at least $10,000 for the rights to be named as Executive Producers.

Filming of the Minecraft developers will continue through 2011, and the finished product will be edited and shipped in 2012.
