Square Releases Final Fantasy III on iOS, Puts Rest of Catalog on Sale

Yesterday, Square Enix released the 2006 Nintendo DS remake of Final Fantasy III on the iOS store…and in celebration, their entire iOS catalog has temporarily gone on sale until March 31.

Prices of Square Enix’ current library of iOS games have been slashed by roughly 40-60% each. For those who don’t care much for RPGs, don’t fret! Square Enix has also developed iOS-only titles (notably Hills and Rivers Remain and Crystal Defenders) that should please real-time/defensive strategy fans.

Prices have also been lowered for the art gallery apps as well, so…that’s good, I suppose.

If you’re looking for an RPG, I recommend Final Fantasy I and the newly-released Final Fantasy III. Skip Final Fantasy II; the battle system is awful. And incidentally, as I write this, Secret of Mana is downloading for the sweet, sweet sale price of $3.99. Most excellent.
