Test Drive 2 Players Get Free DLC, Patches in-Bound
After a very shaky start, Test Drive 2 players are going to be compensated for the game’s problems with a previously premium DLC package being given out for free.
Gamers were faced with range of problems, the most severe of which being online connectivity issues, save corruptions and the game’s Club feature not working.
A fix for all these issues (the full list below) has been released for PC and is in Microsoft and Sony’s approval process, so expect to see them soon.
In reward for buying a game that wasn’t finished, Atari are releasing the “Exploration Pack” for free, which “contains new wrecks to be discovered that unlock the Lancia Stratos version Rallye and 1969 Dodge Charger,” the team said on the game’s forums.
Not exactly amazing, but it’s a nice gesture at least. The full list of fixes follows, but I’ve had my own bugs that aren’t listed as fixed; car disappearing from the road replaced with just the outlines and shadows, something you can see on video here.
Nearly as bad as New Vegas.
Issues Fixed:
- Logging into the game has been improved
- Once into the game the online network experience is now much more stable in all areas
- Save games no longer corrupt
- Existing corrupted save games will be repaired in many cases
- Friends lists are now populated
- Invites now work correctly
- Clubs have been brought back online
- Exploits to gain money have been fixed
- Casino access has been improved
- Players will no longer lose money because of the Casino bug
