Rizk, a Flash Game by The London Science Museum

We manage risk everyday, all the time. We weigh up the reward of an action with the perils their likelihood to happen. Then, we make an educated guess. Writing this article means you get to hear about this game, but I could be mauled by a bear. But, that’s extremely unlikely. Or, I could make a spelling error and be called out by a nemesis, which isn’t as bad, but much more likely.

When it comes to climate change (the liberal conspiracy trying to prevent global capitalism, the greatest force for good in the world, from being all encompassing) the risks, probabilities and rewards are far more complex, but the general idea remains. And it’s an idea echoed in a game produced by the London Science Museum called Rizk which you can play for free right here.

It’s a very well made little RTS, which you’ll be happy to hear doesn’t force its message in your face. You need to gather resources from the dream-like world to help your plant grow, but beware as there are enemies. You must balance the risk of stirring an enemy with the rewards gained by gathering resources near them. All the while listening to some very pleasant music.

Go on, save the planet. You know you want to.
