Angry Birds Coming to Wii, 3DS

In a move that really should have been a surprise to no one at this point, Rovio Mobile tweeted Saturday: “Wii and 3DS later in the year”, so now players can look forward to heavily-armed pigs pissing them off in simulated three dimensions instead of just two.

Specifically, Rovio is planning on porting all three Angry Birds titles — Angry Birds, Angry Birds: Seasons, and the upcoming Angry Birds: Rio — as digital downloads for the systems.

For those of you who may not know, Angry Birds is Rovio Mobile’s breakout success, originally debuted on the iOS (but now on just about every medium you can imagine), involving irate birds launching themselves at pigs holed up in wood and glass fortresses in an attempt to rescue their stolen eggs. Our own Jon reviewed it rather succinctly here.
