Music Monday: The OSVOSTOTYs

Welcome to Music Monday, the best way to start off your week! Each week Jon or Jenny will profile a popular videogame-related musician/band to add to your music library.
Last week one of my favorite websites announced the winners of their annual music awards. Original Sound Version is a spot where I go (and most of you should go) to hear about new and awesome videogame-related music. They do everything from soundtrack reviews to interviews with game composers. I tend to listen to their recommendations more than most, meaning this year’s OSVOSTOTY (OSV Original Soundtrack of The Year) Awards are chock full of amazing music.
These awards look at the best in gaming music from last year. There’s OSVOSTOTY awards for soundtracks and albums from all over the gaming music landscape. I’d like to show off three winners in particular. What better way is there to start off the week than listening to literally the best in game music?
This Music Monday, the winners are Tower of Heaven, The OneUps, and NieR.
Tower of Heaven (winner of Best Indie Game Soundtrack) – “Stairway to Revelation”
The OneUps (winner of Best Doujin Album) – “Something About Koopa Beach”
NeiR (winner of Soundtrack of the Year) – “The Dark Colossus Destroys All”

“What better way is there to start off the week than listening to literally the best in game music?”
None. None at all.
The OneUps are great, but that first one is absolutely spectacular.
That Neir soundtrack was lovely surprise. Really nice music.
