Dragon Age 2 May be Getting a Demo

Last year when BioWare released Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening (the single expansion pack to Dragon Age: Origins) copies of the game shipped a flier teasing something Dragon Age-related for February 1, 2011. Most assumed it was the release date for Dragon Age 2 (which has since been revealed to be March 8 in the US and March 11 in the UK). BioWare has been insistent that the date is for a “surprise”.
If a new post on the BioWare Social Network forums is to be believed, that date may just be for a pre-release demo of Dragon Age 2. The poster seems to have recieved the official newsletter for EA’s Dutch branch which claims that a Dragon Age 2 demo is “available now”. Subsequent posters have pointed out EA Norway, indicating the same thing in their own newsletter. They’ve also verified the demo in question is not currently available on either Xbox Live nor the PlayStation Network.
February 1 is a Tuesday. Tuesdays are when PSN/XBL update with new content traditionally. This also wouldn’t be the first time EA has jumped the gun on a BioWare game. Only (an admittedly short amount of) time will tell!
