Portal 2 Gets Cross-Platform Play, Chat, and More
Since Valve announced they would be making their PS3 debut with Portal 2, it’s also been known the game would make use of Steam in some capacity. Today, Valve has revealed how.
PS3 owners of Portal 2 will be able to play and chat with players of the game’s PC/Mac versions in the game’s co-op mode. By linking their PSN IDs with their Steam accounts, PS3 owners can access their Steam friends list and achievements right from their favorite Sony console.
They can also utilize Steam’s cloud computing capabilities to store game saves. The biggest bonus however, (hands down) has to be the free Steam Play copy of Portal 2 for PC/Mac!
“Additional functionality” and DLC is also planned down the road. Portal 2 releases on PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Mac on April 21.

Wow, that’s really impressive.
Fantastic. Looks like I’ll be getting the PS3 after all. Here’s to hoping more games do this in the future.
This is pretty incredible. I hope every Valve game on PS3 will be like this from now on.
Yep, I was just going to get the PC version, but I think I’ll get the PS3 one now. This is awesome.
