Capcom vs. Marvel Rage-Quitter Purgatory

Rage quitting is a constant problem in the majority of online games, but with button-bashing fighters it’s particularly bad.

Well, it seems Capcom might’ve figured out a rather clever and evil way to ensuring that rage-quitters don’t bother the rest the civilised world for its upcoming Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds.

According to GamesRadar, the game logs how many times you’ve quit out during your matches and keeps an invisible tally, which then goes towards your reputation, If your reputation for being a quitter gets too low, the game will only start matching you up with other quitters.

So instead of annoying everyone else with your rage-quitting (and most probably squealing down the mic) you’ll simply be ousted and put into some sort of horrible purgatory where you’ll constantly have to deal with idiots like you.

It’s not clear if you can earn your way out of this kind of hell, but I imagine if you stop quitting half way through matches your reputation will go up and you’ll be allowed back into the realm of the living.

So well done Capcom, I’m impressed. Although it’d be nice of every game used a similar feature.

Invisible tally, hmmmmmmm, YES. What would have been more delicious were if Capcom had kept this secret, only springing the details of this feature after complaints had started flooding in.
You’re having trouble with rage-quitters? Well we have feature that… IT’S LIKE YOU’RE LOOKING INTO A MIRROR. BAW HAW HA
