Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Adds Mutant, Mayor Weeks Before Release

Your resident Marvel vs. Capcom 3 fanboy here yet again to let you know about recent roster updates.

Unsurprisingly, Mayor Mike Haggar has been announced. In the past few months many have speculated about Haggar’s place on the roster, and leaked pics from Capcom have basically confirmed him joining the cast. Now we have official confirmation, along with a video showing off his fight style. From what we’ve been given Haggar looks to be a dirtier version of Zangief, using multiple throws and a long lead pipe to get business done.

On the Marvel side, we’ve got Jean Grey’s God-like form, Phoenix. Her backstory is about as crazy as she is. And she’s got the moves to match it. From her glimpse we see what look like a fire-based Storm, with the ability to fly around and use various projectiles. Her Hyper Combo has her changing into the almighty-powerful Dark Phoenix, but unfortunately she doesn’t go about causing entire solar systems to die out. We might have to wait for MvC4 for that.

Now with the release date within sight (Feb. 15th U.S., Feb. 18th Europe, hooray!), after these many years of waiting, here’s what the roster looks like now:
