Music Monday: Make It Your Own

Welcome to Music Monday, the best way to start off your week! Each week Jon will profile a popular videogame-related musician/band to add to your music library.

OCRemix has become one of my favorite sites on the web recently. The site is dedicated to remixing some of the most popular songs in the gaming world. Done by a community of phenomenal musicians, these remixes sometimes outclass the originals. The site might be best known for it’s albums, which are free-to-download remixes of entire game soundtracks. I thought that this week I’d take the time to show you folks some of the amazing artists whose works have helped make this site the wonderful music shop it’s become.

For your consideration, this week’s Music Monday shows off work by Protricity, NoppZ and Benjamin Briggs from the great OCRemix community.

Protricity: “Brainsick Metal”

Music Fact: This is a mash-up of three songs from the Mega Man X soundtrack.

NoppZ: “A Miserable Pile of Dance Moves”

Music Fact: Here’s a dance remix of tunes from Castlevania: Symphony of The Night.

Benjamin Briggs: “Anthem of a Misguided Youth”

Music Fact: Rather than remixing one game’s songs, Briggs here mashed up songs from Link’s Awakening and The Ocarina of Time.

So you chose Mega Man and Zelda. Alright.

I liked the MM track though, I made me want to listen to FZeroX music.
