Bulletin:
Hydrophobia getting Pure, patched and price cut
Hydrophobia, a promising underwater action title released to XBLA this summer to disappointed critics and poor sales is getting religion today. The game’s developer, Dark Energy Digital (from Manchester, UK by the way), have heard the criticisms of the gaming public and have overhauled it and added the suffix, “Pure”. The patch goes live on XBLA today along with a five dollar price cut, bringing the game down to $10 (800 MSP).
I’ve just cleared out my review backlog late last night, but this is a tempting offering. I spent a half an hour with a couple of the studio’s developers back at E3 this year. I should be skeptical that this massive list of fixes will bring about any measurable improvement in the game’s quality, but I’m feeling generous with the holiday spirit today. Expect a full review or at least extended impressions soon.
