Telltale Releases Back to the Future Trailer
After a month of promising via back to the scenes videos, Telltale finally released the world premiere trailer on SpikeTV on December second, and it’s now made its way to GameTrailers, where it can be seen in all its Back to the Future goodness.
The trailer confirms that the game takes place around six months after the events of Back to the Future III, with Marty rushing back in time — or is it forward? — to save Doc Brown from incarceration and prevent his house from being auctioned off by the bank in present-day 1986. Part of the gameplay will take place in the 1930s, featuring a young Doc Brown. Additional news, provided by Telltale, was that they managed to license Huey Lewis’ “Back in Time”, because, as they state, “Not many things scream Back to the Future as loudly as that song”. If the trailer is any indication, they also seem to have secured the rights to the original instrumental score as well, which would be totally awesome, natch.
The trailer also listed the names of the episodes, and tentative release dates: Episode one (“It’s About Time”) in December, Episode two (“Get Tannen!”) in February, Episode three (“Citizen Brown”) in March, Episode four (“Double Visions”) in April, and an undated (“finale”) release of Episode five (“OUTATIME”).
Oh, and GameTrailers also has some behind the scenes stuff with blink-and-you-miss-it shots of actual gameplay.
Episode one is expected to launch mid-December, and the series will be released on PlayStation Network, PC, and the iPad.
