Double Fine Announce Costume Quest DLC

Fresh off of their success with Costume Quest, Double Fine Productions have announced upcoming DLC. Titled “Grubbins on Ice” the DLC follows siblings Wren and Reynold, along with Everett. They find the portal to the monsters’ world, Repugia, and don their costumes once again to save their friend Lucy, who was captured while trying to collect candy to support a Grubbin revolution.

According to the preview posted on GameSpot earlier today, the DLC will be a little longer than one of the game’s levels and, will introduce new costumes and abilities. And include a patch to fix performance issues in the original game. Additionally, the DLC will include new gameplay features such as pausing during cutscenes and a manual save option, which readers of my original review will remember as one of my major points of contention with the game.

Double Fine have said that the winter-themed DLC, launching sometime around Christmas, will take roughly five hours to complete. No announcement has been made regarding the pricing of “Grubbins on Ice” but given that I considered the original game overpriced at $14.99 — with three levels — I would hope the one-level DLC wouldn’t cost more than $3 or $4.

Naughton Says:

Apple bobbing, part 4!!!

@Naughton: The water would be frozen. Or so hot it would scald Wren’s face off. You’re a sick little monkey to want that to happen. Because clearly you cannot apple bob in icy weather.
