Atlus Prepping Persona 2 Remake For PSP

After tackling PSP remakes of both the original Persona and the third entry in the series, Atlus is developing a remake of Persona 2 (also on PSP). Persona 2 was originally split into two parts: Persona 2: Innocent Sin (the part subject to this remake and the same one that was never released outside of Japan) and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment (which long-time gamers in the west should be familiar with).

This new port of Innocent Sin boasts new character designs and cutscenes, tightened gameplay, remastered voice work, and a soundtrack full of new arrangements of the original tunes. Innocent Sin is scheduled for release this holiday in Japan. Its hinted that if the game does well, Eternal Punishment could see a revival as well.

Its not Persona 5, but most fans probably haven’t played Innocent Sin (at least, not in English) so it’s almost as good, eh? I wouldn’t even speculate about localization. Atlus has brought over all of the Persona remakes so far, so its almost a definite.

This is nice, but I really just want an EU release date for Catherine.
