Microsoft Announce Kinect’s Launch Lineup
Microsoft, by way of Major Nelson, have announced the full lineup of 17 “launch” Kinect games. Though they have included games in the list which won’t be available when Kinect launches, and one game that doesn’t have a release date yet.
All told, 12 titles will be available to day one Kinect owners. The one game being released to bulk up the 11 high quality casual titles is Dance Central, the dancing game by the makers of Rock Band. Arriving a few weeks after are two fitness games (if the two released at launch haven’t stopped you being a fatty), a Harry Potter game and some other nonsense.
Most of the titles, including Kinect Joy Ride — which Microsoft said would be free, and supported by DLC — cost a slightly-less-than-other-games $49.99 (or if you’re in the UK, £39.99).
It’s assumed by everybody that Kinect will sell around a billion-trillion units this Christmas season whereas Move, Sony’s equally rubbish Wii-copy, probably won’t sell as many. Microsoft haven’t announced if any proper games will be using the peripheral yet.

Pfft, weak. Developers need to support this sort of thing, same with Move. Otherwise you’re just going to get ghettos where Kinect games are all just Wii-style “Virtual horse” or “Imagine: Playing a videogame”.
It’ll be interesting to watch as they find out just how late they are to the party.
