Final Halo 2 Player, Shunned By Microsoft, Speaks Out

The last Halo 2 (and original Xbox Live) player has confirmed to Nukezilla that neither he or any of the other final players, commonly known as “Nobel-12″, ever received any of their promised rewards from Microsoft. He has also confirmed that his attempts to contact Microsoft and Bungie have been met with silence.

The Xbox LIVE service for original Xbox consoles and games was shut down last April, rendering all multiplayer Xbox games inoperable. At the time Microsoft said the shut down was to “fully harness the power of Xbox 360 and the Xbox LIVE community”.

Craig (who has asked we don’t use his full name to stem the tide of trolls) was the very last player to leave Halo 2 at 2am on May 11th. The “30+ something” gamer, going by the gamertag APACHE N4SIR, along with the other final 11 players was promised “everything necessary to participate in the Halo: Reach beta” by Microsoft in a statement to IGN.

Craig confirmed that the original whistle-blower (going by the name CaptainExplaino) is a friend of his, who took to the internet after finding out Microsoft failed to stick to their words.

Things are not all bad though, as GamesRadar recognised the final 12′s accomplishment and provided them all with Halo: Reach muliplayer beta keys. This happened on April 30th, a day before Microsoft released their statement.

But this still leaves Craig, and the others, with no real recognition from Microsoft or Bungie: “we have not (or did not) received anything from Microsoft and/or Bungie including contact; neither Microsoft nor Bungie have not contacted any of the ‘Nobel-12′ by phone, email or via XBL.”

So what does Craig want? He believes that Microsoft was unclear when they said the 12 would “have everything necessary to participate in the Halo: Reach beta.” He’s asking for Microsoft to clarify what they meant, as well as for some level of recognition. “I would like Microsoft to follow up with what everyone expected them to do with the statement that they put out.”

APACHE N4SIR Says:

I concur. Nice Article Jon… Lets see what comes of it!

greedy fat corporate cunt Says:

Microsoft and Bungie don’t give a fuck about you.
All they are interested is trying to squeeze every last penny out of you so those cunts can spend it on drugs, guns, whores, raping little white girls and killing niggers.
Remember to lobe up as they are going to fuck you over everytime. Short of killing them, and I wish somebody would, then your fucked.

NoWay? Says:

really…. a big corporation that is getting bigger in the bank is gonna care about people? rly… you rly believe that? you forget this is america… land of the “yeah, we screwed you over and we even had a meeting about it talking about how we were going to do it”

fuck the police

@NoWay?: Somebody called the police? Shit’s getting serious.

Aaron Says:

Piss off whiners. You act as though you didn’t know that xbox original servers would eventually go down. Anyone who plays video games knows that the industry is ever evolving in to the next big thing. Grow a pair and go buy a 360 or STFU! Waaahhhhh…. Why did nintendo stop making gameboy color games? i thought i was making a life-long investment! Or just do what us smart gamers do and stick with sony. (ps2 still going after 10 years).Don’t expect Microsoft or Bungie to go out of their way for every whiney little girl who complains about something. If they did that, then they wouldn’t have time to make games. Next thing you know they’ll have to put a disclaimer on the games case. I agree that they should not have made a promise that they did not intend to keep but other than that…..I think you all expect a little too much.

@Aaron: I like the bit where you read the article.

APACHE N4SIR Says:

@John Kershaw:
John… “Aaron” is why I didn’t want my full name published…

I like how at the very end of his pointless ‘rant’ he contradicted himself by saying: “I agree that they should not have made a promise that they did not intend to keep but other than that…..I think you all expect a little too much.” Apparently the English language is foreign to him. lol

Naughton Says:

If all of this happened in April, why is it just now coming out? Just wondering.

Aaron Says:

Actually John, I am an english major which is why i know the meaning of contradict and you apparently do not. I did not contradict myself. I simply said that a promise should not be broken. My so called “rant” was directed to those who whined and complained in the first place about not being able to play Halo 2 online anymore. Also, as far as a pointless rant goes, i thought it was acceptable to respond to a pointless rant with another. It’s a video game and you needed to have an article written to complain. THAT is a pointless rant (which you would have known if you had any kind of grasp on the english language.) Besides, I don’t think any person who uses “lol” has the right to say “Apparently the English language is foreign to him. lol”. Please respond with more petty uneducated nonsense.

AlexDJones Says:

@Aaron

You’re an English major? Is that why you failed to capitalise all those Is? And why you wrote “directed to” instead of “directed at”?

Good thing we’re all taking you seriously, isn’t it?

Naughton Says:

@Aaron: Regardless of your major, you’re still wrong. These 12 guys weren’t complaining or whining, they just stayed on the XBL servers, and Microsoft went out of their way to promise them shit, then MS didn’t deliver.

“Reading the article you’re commenting on” fail.

APACHE N4SIR Says:

@Aaron:
Wasn’t John it was me… STFU You proved you don’t have an education and are all talk.

Aaron Says:

I have proven nothing except exactly what I set out to prove. That is that you all posess the mentality and attitude of children. Also that everyone is a big talker on the internet. Well, at least you all helped to make my case study an easy one this evening. Thank you gentleman. P.S. AlexDJones- Directed to is actually proper. Directed at is incorrect. “Excuse me sir, could you direct me at the nearest gas staion?” or “Excuse me sir, could you direct me to the nearest gas station?” Laughing out loud at your attempt at intelligence.

AlexDJones Says:

@Aaron

Sorry, but a rant is directed at a person, not to a person.

But it’s okay, because I feel intimidated and less confident as a result of your SCATHING comment. All is well.

Oh my god Says:

This is hilarious ^

Aaron Says:

Was not trying to intimidate you OR make you feel less confident although I DO appreciate the sarcasm.Unfortunatley I have this habit of pointing out others mistakes which I will do again. You don’t send an e-mail or letter AT a person you send it TO them. In the same way a rant is directed TO a person not AT them. We’re not throwing rocks here.

Ace Flibble Says:

Wow. Did that really just happen?

Anyway, it’s not like any of these players are asking for much and they already got their Reach keys. I don’t see why Bungie/Microsoft couldn’t at least recognise them. They’ll stick some random glamour model in a Halo t-shirt and send out press releases claiming they’ve found “the hottest Halo player”, but they won’t acknowledge arguably the twelve most dedicated Halo 2 players? Dick move.

@Naughton:

In a nut shell… CaptainExplaino found out that I was the last person to play Halo 2 online while we were in a REACH game last week, he then posted a article on Link showing his frustration for broken promises that Microsoft made. A number of gaming sites picked up on the article, A press release statement was sent out to nukezilla etc and this is one of the reply’s.

It is only coming to light now as no one before “CaptainExplaino” decided to post anything in regards to this situation.

Let the trolls (not you Naughton) cometh!!

Nitpicking at everyone’s grammar gets us nowhere.

The point of this article is to bring to light that Microsoft made a very bold public promise and has failed to deliver. While this might have occurred several months ago, I assume most consumers don’t have all the resources they need to speak with someone within these companies; some of the time may have been spent on this.

The point of news outlets is to report on the truth. Nothing in this article shows this ‘whining’ bias that you speak of. At no point in this article did anyone say, “Microsoft are a bunch of jerks and I expected them to shower me with gifts because I’m special.” The piece doesn’t even say “These people deserve to be recognized,” it just quotes the source as saying this is the desired goal.

It states: Microsoft made a promise through a press release. One of these twelve people has come forward to say this promise was not fulfilled. The reason why this is news is because of how far out of their way Microsoft went to praise and publicize these dedicated fans. Journalists and other industry folk are fairly used to the manipulation tactics used by PR, but the average consumer is not.

Halidar Says:

It baffles me how a company can make such horrendous PR mistakes like this when they could easily be fixed or avoided all together.

HiredN00bs Says:

Why has neither article provided a source on these Microsoft “promises”? To date, I have not seen any evidence of them, which is why I don’t share this resentment.

-8th to last on Halo 2

@HiredN00bs: Both articles made reference/linked to the statement MS issued (see http://uk.xboxlive.ign.com/articles/108/1086645p1.html)

Naughton Says:

@APACHE N4SIR: Gotcha. I hope some kind of resolution is found, but we are talking about Microsoft…

Mike Says:

@Aaron: Sorry but the context of that argument is completely inaccurate. “directed to” would identify a place but when targeting a person its “directed at” You being a supposed english major i would expect you to understand the difference. Also going on to insult people with comments such as “That is that you all posess the mentality and attitude of children.” rather than just having a mature debate (and yet you call others children in a manner that would imply immaturity on there part) not to mention the fact that you said “That is that” rather than just “Is that” like it should be, makes me further question you’re supposed english major.

P.S Do not bother replying with rude remarks towards me as it will only further back up part of my point.

Edit: The part about the E-mail is correct but still out of context. That would be the same as sending an object “to” a person, but when directing a verbal comment its directed “at” the person. (Objects are directed to, Words are directed at)

For the Love of God Says:

@HiredN00bs

HiredN00bs… How can one person be so blind? If you are the *REAL* HiredN00bs you would see that APACHE N4SIR is not doing this just for him but for the rest of the “Nobel-12″ which would include yourself. You should be supporting Apache N4Sir and all that he’s trying to do, but we see your comments and can come to the conclusion that you work for Microsoft and are here to try to tarnish a statement that you know is true.

The statement put out by your boss/company stated:
“we are working to ensure they have everything necessary to participate in the Halo: Reach beta.” and *NOT* we are working to ensure they have everything necessary to participate in the Halo: Reach beta by providing each Nobel-12 member/player a free Beta Code. See the difference?

If these loyal players are Halo fans, one would only assume they all had a copy of ODST and a system to play it on even if MicroCrap didn’t offer or GamesRadar didn’t provide a REACH Beta Code. Now for all the trolls who will (and I know you would) jump at the opportunity to say that if they already had a xbox 360 & ODST then they didn’t need another console or game… which I would only say, with Microcraps background and track record, no one can have enough xboxes will all the RRoD issues. Doesn’t mean Microsoft had to expose and advertise GREAT PR for an action that they didn’t intend to honor. All the money spent on promoting Halo REACH (both East Coast & West Coast) compared by a drop in the bucket if this promise was kept.

Microsoft *AND* Bungie… **YOU CAN STILL FIX THIS AND RECOVER** showing that yes it did fall through the cracks BUT you did follow through with what you stated & promised.

HiredN00bs, (if that is your real name) go back to your boss and tell them the truth. Tell Microsoft that you were on a comment page and saw the light, do what is right!

@APACHE N4SIR…
I thank you for speaking out on this tragedy. I played against you last night and you played like a Spartan should with Honor & Dignity. You had every right to “T-Bag” me but you didn’t, you just took my sword and gave it back to me countless times without letting me hold it for the rest of the match.

@APACHE N4SIR…
If you do get what is promised to you… Can I have HiredN00bs’s? Seems he is not great-full for the actions you, CaptainExplaino and Nukezilla are trying to do here and doesn’t want what was promised to him. Besides… he works for Microsoft and gets paid to put genuine players down.

@the Microsoft sell-out,
The statement can be found here or in your inter-office memorandum dated April 30th 2010.

*Sorry this was a fairly long post but which needed to be said*

For the Love of God Says:

*Sorry that was a fairly long post but which needed to be said*

NoZart Says:

I think the whole thing got blown out of proportion. First the statement from microsoft is such a fishy one, one could interpret they are working on having live up and the game running and nothing more.

Second, while the noble 12 action is a cool one, it is not really worth all that blabla. Microsoft made a hush statement and didnt follow through, big news.

The noble 12 get recognition and respect for their action from the gamer community, which is where it should be at. Trying to milk microsoft for a very unpromising statement is not that – ahm – noble.

And you got beta codes. You got them from someplace else, yes, but should that matter? You have access, all is good.

HiredN00bs Says:

I can’t believe all of the insinuations that I work for Microsoft just because I purport to never have seen any evidence that we were promised anything. I’m about to check out the link that was posted, thank you very much. And Apache can confirm I am the real HiredN00bs because we discussed these articles and my comments via Xbox Live.

artistic Says:

this is why i have a jtag xbox 360 this means its fully open and hacked so i can steal xbox360 games and xbox live games all for free fuck xbox box here how they fucc u i have a program on 360 that unlocks content exsample the orignal boardeland game already has the zombie add on the disk u just pay for them to unlock it thats fucked up i get it free fuck u xbox rumor has it it there last like i said fuck u xbox i get it free jtag is the way to go

HiredN00bs Says:

“A small band of a committed few, engaged in a battle against insurmountable odds. It’s not Noble team from Halo: Reach, it’s the final, passionate few who are still playing Halo 2. We wish them the best in their battle against time. Their tremendous exhibition of courage and commitment makes them ideal candidates for Noble team and therefore we are working to ensure they have everything necessary to participate in the Halo: Reach beta.”

So, most of us had everything necessary to participate in the Halo: Reach beta. There were some, such as Dirty Cajun, who didn’t have Xbox 360s. Did Microsoft get them Xbox 360s? I don’t know. That might be something interesting to investigate.

But seriously, anyone who suggests that I work for Microsoft because I’m being skeptical is a nut. A NUT.

HiredN00bs Says:

I don’t know who you are impostor, but the REAL HiredN00bs is observing all that you speak of.

HiredN00bs Says:

@HiredN00bs: This is ridiculous. You guys are some neurotic nerds.

Edit: Also, to the above imposter, the real HiredN00bs would never end a sentence with a prepostition.

@HiredN00bs:
This is to the fake (non member) HiredN00bs replying to the member named HiredN00bs… (The fake one should come up with a different name and not “THE-REAL-HiredN00bs”) but the correct spelling is “preposition”.

Seems HiredN00bs’ are having a sh!t throwing contest to see whose sh!t spells worse. (that was a joke, relax a tad! lol Trying to cut the tension here.)

As you can see the non-member HiredN00bs clearly stated “That might be something interesting to investigate.” when talking about the promise that Microsoft made but didn’t deliver on. Now non-member-HiredN00bs… just as you stated, “That might be something interesting to investigate.” I think that is what ‘we’ are doing here. I believe that is the reason for CaptainExplaino to make the original post. As I have (and everyone else including yourself) posted what Microsoft said, and for sake of argument I will post it again. They stated “we are working to ensure they have everything necessary to participate in the Halo: Reach beta.” which you agree by stating “That might be something interesting to investigate.” *BUT* as everyone has grasped from the start, Microsoft didn’t word it in a way that only a few would get the hardware/software etc. Microsoft DIDN’T write: [...we are working to ensure they have everything necessary to participate in the Halo: Reach beta in case they already don't have a xbox360, controller, headset and Halo ODST. For everyone else that does have everything needed to participate in the Halo: Reach beta, we won't give you anything.]

The statement was directed at the group, not the few that didn’t have a xbox360 at the time. It wouldn’t be fair (I know life isn’t fair but follow me for a second) to give one member something and not the other when the statement was directed at all of us.

For the record, (This has been confirmed by each member) that the following did not have everything necessary to participate in the Halo: Reach beta. The members that have been confirmed to date are:
~ DirtyCajun
~ AforeignObject
That doesn’t include the members (at least three) whose xbox’s stopped working or Red Ringed.

We can debate this till New Years, but the fact that you agree that “That might be something interesting to investigate.” proves not only my point but CaptainExplaino’s and the creators of this web site amongst many others.

For the record, I have been trying to get in contact with both Bungie & Microsoft since the middle of June 2010. How many of you can say the same thing?!

Can’t we all just be friends?!?!?!?

HiredN00bs Says:

I’m not coming up with any name because I’m not registering on this shitty site. Not after seeing the caliber of the members. I’m HiredN00bs on just about everything I use–hotmail, gmail, IGN, Bungie.net, Xbox Live, etc.

Whine and cry all you want, but Microsoft didn’t make any sort of hard promise here. I also think I’ll take Apache N4Sir off my XBL friends list, as well. The guy barely played with us in those final days (I don’t really care why either, Craig, but the fact is you didn’t).

Agent Windex Says:

Seriously Apache? This is Agent Windex (Joe Campbell on Bungie), the second to last Halo 2 player. You are the only person that actually did this for a reward, all you care about is the fame that you got from being the last Halo 2 player. You didn’t even play Halo 2 in those final days, you were idle 99% of the time.

We stayed online on those final days to send Halo 2 out with a bang, not to be rewarded by Microsoft. Microsoft didn’t promise us anything, and neither did Bungie. You played on those final days for all the wrong reasons, and now you want rewarded for it?

HiredN00bs Says:

I’d like to hear from the other 10…

Agent Windex Says:

Apache makes it seem like we’re all greedy and want prizes for playing Halo 2 on those final days, when the only one that wants a reward is Apache.

Hired, did you send this link to the other 10, I’m sure they’d love to see this.

HiredN00bs Says:

I already sent a message to sherlok, but I don’t have everyone on my list. I did make a meta list for all of us, and I sent out some invites, but I never finished. Maybe I’ll do that now.

BTW, I called Apache “Craig” because earlier he sent me an Xbox Live message where he referred to me by my first name. Here’s the skinny, bro: I don’t know you and you don’t know me, and you don’t fucking call people you don’t know by their first name–it makes you look like a douche.

Somebody is pissy & in a bad, cranky mood.

It’s okay, I removed “HiredN00bs” a few months ago for failure to join games and be a team player so no great loss there! Nice try.

I never denied I didn’t play with HiredN00bs a lot, I actually avoided HiredN00bs because he is the type of player that is a “Lone-Wolf” and doesn’t use his communicator for fear that people think he has a young girls voice. Just shows your immaturity and real age. If your mommy doesn’t want you to talk to strangers online then you shouldn’t be playing big-boy games or posting on forums.

You weren’t the 8th one to be removed, I kicked you for your lack of skill, I wanted to play with adults and not kids.

When I did play with this N00b, I didn’t even realize he was in the game till post game carnage screen appeared and I looked towards the bottom and low and behold HiredN00bs was always dead last in the ranking with few kills credited to her name.

@Microsoft & @Bungie
HiredNoobs has declined your offer, he/she doesn’t want anything that you have offered and/or promised, including recognition mainly because he/she is already on your payroll.

I seldom reply to such banter, but when you insult not only me, the website that posted the article (that is only trying to help and report on a valid gaming news story that is currently in the news) and every other Halo 2 fan and gaming community member. I will put my foot down and stand-up for what I believe in while looking like a jackass (at times) but will “Man-Up” to actions that I did but not accusations that are unproven & untrue.

D!ck (If that is your real name) Do not bother replying with rude remarks towards me as you had your chance in the past but blew it! It will be met with no reaction from me.

@HiredN00bs (you pick which one this is directed too)…
I don’t know what I said in my recent post to upset you as much as what you have shown. My apologies if I hurt your feelings in any way. But I will be the bigger man/person and say I am truly sorry for the way you feel. When you figure out how to plug in your microphone, send me a invite… I’ll game with you. Until we meet again on the battlefield, I Snap to attention and wish you good luck at your prom!

Sherlok 1 Says:

I agree with N00bs and Windex. I don’t agree with this article or the sentiment. There are a lot of other things I’d like to say but I think it’s for the best if I just keep this short.
And before you make accusations , no, I don’t work for Microsoft. Or do I? We may never know.

Sherlok 1 Says:

nevermind

@Agent Windex:
I sent the link to DirtyCajun, Booker D, Rob2D, Z0mbie Stench as they were the one’s on my friends list and HiredN00bs which I typed in manually.

I was idle when I was working (I have a job) and when I got home you didn’t want to play with me, you wanted to play REACH (which is fine). You snubbed me several times but again that is fine. I have publicly stated what I wanted, and “prizes” as you call it is not one of them. Bungie did not promise us anything but Microsoft did (You and HiredN00bs must be looking at everything with the same pair of rose colored glasses). Let me point out your contradiction which you stated above:

Quote #1: “You didn’t even play Halo 2 in those final days,”

Quote #2: “You played on those final days for all the wrong reasons,”

I played for my personal reasons and my reasons only. But my main reason was (like I’ve always stated and never denied), I played to show Bungie & Microsoft that I didn’t agree with removing support for 1st generation games that still had a strong following. ie: Crimson Sky, MechAssult I & II, NFL Street, and of course Halo 2 (there are many more but those are the one’s I’d play day in day out without thinking twice!)

If you want to TRY to bully me and leave games like you did in Halo 2 to make yourself look better and myself look like a idler, then go ahead.

Be aware that I didn’t write any of these articles… I didn’t make you or any of the Nobel-12 look greedy, and neither did the articles posted. The main argue (not done by me) was a lack of follow through from PR Microsoft did, nothing more nothing less. You two have blown this way outta proportion.

If you don’t like to be called by your name then you should remove it from your public profile D!CK. Otherwise its your legal name you cant stop anyone from calling you something which you posted of your own free will.

I wont correct Agent Windex’s poor use of grammar and spelling but will point out that as far as my educational experience goes, and what they teach where I’m from:
twelve minus three doesn’t equal ten

I Think you both (Agent Windex & HiredN00bs) should go back and check their arithmetic (sorry that’s a big word… MATH) skills. I hear flash cards work well for the youth of today!

HiredN00bs Says:

So APACHE N4SIR is full of shit, because he’s been on my friends list until this very night when I removed him. Good riddance!

For the record, I talk A LOT on the mic, anyone who has played with me knows this, to the point where I’m told to shut up because I’m giving too many call-outs.

APACHE, you are the biggest phony, and those that follow you will surely end up with nothing but disappointment. It’s too bad. You seemed like a decent guy from your interview on TSL, but everyone here can see your true colors shining through.

HiredN00bs Says:

There is no lack of “follow-through”. All you have are very tenuous interpretations of a single press snippet relayed by IGN, not even from the original source.

I don’t give a shit if they give us anything or just give you something or give every fallacious fucker on this website a gold medal. It still doesn’t strengthen your weak arguments, nor those of the author.

Keep up the lying, bro.

HiredN00bs Says:

And I’m going to enjoy so much every time another of the 12 comes in and calls you out for the trash you are.

Windex makes a good point. Maybe we should shift the 12 down a slot, and bring in SieferSword. Fuck this guy. I’m actually down for getting a group photo with 2-17, if we can. It’d be a cool thing to have in our file shares.

HiredN00bs Says:

@APACHE N4SIR: So a more detailed reply might be fun:

“Somebody is pissy & in a bad, cranky mood.”

Enjoying this quite a bit, actually.

“It’s okay, I removed “HiredN00bs” a few months ago…”

lie

“…for failure to join games and be a team player so no great loss there! Nice try.”

nice try to lie

“I never denied I didn’t play with HiredN00bs a lot, I actually avoided HiredN00bs because he is the type of player that is a “Lone-Wolf” and doesn’t use his communicator…”

You didn’t play with anyone a lot. And lie.

“…for fear that people think he has a young girls voice. Just shows your immaturity and real age. If your mommy doesn’t want you to talk to strangers online then you shouldn’t be playing big-boy games or posting on forums.”

lol lie, I was a Bass in the Chamber Choir at my high school 10 years ago

“You weren’t the 8th one to be removed, I kicked you for your lack of skill, I wanted to play with adults and not kids.”

what are you even talking about? you kicked me from XBL? LOL

“When I did play with this N00b, I didn’t even realize he was in the game till post game carnage screen appeared and I looked towards the bottom and low and behold HiredN00bs was always dead last in the ranking with few kills credited to her name.”

Usually when people trash-talk, they try and root it somewhere in reality. Either way, irrelevant.

“@Microsoft & @Bungie
HiredNoobs has declined your offer, he/she doesn’t want anything that you have offered and/or promised, including recognition mainly because he/she is already on your payroll.”

And there you go, joining in with the peanut gallery. lololololololol

“I seldom reply to such banter, but when you insult not only me, the website that posted the article (that is only trying to help and report on a valid gaming news story that is currently in the news) and every other Halo 2 fan and gaming community member.”

I insulted every Halo 2 fan! What a maroon!

“I will put my foot down and stand-up for what I believe in while looking like a jackass (at times) but will “Man-Up” to actions that I did but not accusations that are unproven & untrue.”

No one has said anything untrue except some of the users here and you.

“D!ck (If that is your real name) Do not bother replying with rude remarks towards me as you had your chance in the past but blew it! It will be met with no reaction from me.”

Good. Because you suck at reacting.

“@HiredN00bs (you pick which one this is directed too)…
I don’t know what I said in my recent post to upset you as much as what you have shown. My apologies if I hurt your feelings in any way. But I will be the bigger man/person and say I am truly sorry for the way you feel. When you figure out how to plug in your microphone, send me a invite… I’ll game with you. Until we meet again on the battlefield, I Snap to attention and wish you good luck at your prom!”

There’s only one other person here that used the name HiredN00bs, some smart ass that wanted to troll me. Here’s a helpful guide:

-Small text is the real HiredN00bs
-The same HiredN00bs who but hours ago removed you from his Xbox Live friends list

I didn’t understand why people were so hard on you on Bungie.net until now. You’re a fucking liar.

@HiredN00bs:
Keep trolling there buddy!

HiredN00bs Says:

@APACHE N4SIR: Keep lying!

HiredN00bs Says:

Here’s an upcoming headline for you – “Other 11 ‘final few’ speak out about APACHE N4SIR”

Naughton Says:

The real question underneath all this really needs to be addressed… how the fuck do you unlock Obama?

Mike Says:

Wow this has turned into a really entertaining (albeit immature) pissing match between Apache & Hired, anyone know who is winning?

HiredN00bs Says:

I’m pretty sure you can read it and tell. Dude is a straight up liar.

HiredN00bs Says:

@APACHE N4SIR: “Keep trolling there buddy!”

Will do.

S.I.C.M Says:

@APACHE N4SIR: Those of us who know you, know the truth… the rest need to get a life.

HiredN00bs Says:

@S.I.C.M: Know what truth? That he barely played with any of the last Halo 2 players? That he sat idle and then wants to act like he’s everybody’s buddy? That he slanders people who disagree with him? That he spurred an article that has little to no ground to stand on? What are we missing?

MrBRAD Says:

200px-The_Sea_of_Trolls_cover.jpg

Ahem. Could we keep this civil, HiredN00bs/Aaron/other children?

UglyDuck Says:

IMO show’s the real instigator on this thread, past threads and on Bungie.net. Too bad he wasn’t that good in any REACH games I randomly played with him, seems he is all talk with little to no actions behind his gaping mouth. Your life partner should be so proud.

Mr. Snuffleupagus Says:

The comment I just posted was and is directed at HiredNoobs and no one else.

Ok I don’t care how this pissing match started but it should come to an end! Here is what I think, first point APACHE N4SIR did not start this, his friend did. When I was playing a game of REACH with APACHE a few weeks ago, one of his friends asked him “So what did you guys get from Microsoft?” APACHE replied “Microsoft didn’t give us anything” I agreed. His friend was surprised as were the majority of my friends and coworkers when they saw the most recent post on Reddit. APACHE was asked to make a statement and he did. As for the idler statement we all did it. When APACHE did get on it wasn’t until 2am when he got home from work, but he got on when he could. As for the article(s) personally; I too would like some clarification on Microsoft’s statement. I talked to several people in regards to this debate. Some thought that meant a XBOX 360 and the Beta code others thought just the Beta code. But it is true Microsoft did not contact us but GamesRadar did. GamesRadar provided us with codes before Microsoft released their statement.

Try reading it again. There’s no pissing match–just butt-hurt people with weak arguments, wild accusations, and slanders (of whose ranks you were eager to join). But maybe you missed the part where I’m a Microsoft plant who is ungrateful for the great work Apache was doing. Or how he kicked me off of Xbox Live. The thread has been an entertaining journey into the unreal. And thanks for posting, Booker D, maybe Apache is a cool guy…when you’re not disagreeing with him. Lying tends to ruin relationships.

None of this noise and clamor has served to advance the argument that Microsoft owes us or shorted us anything. Perhaps a short review of the facts:

-Microsoft issued no statement directly.
-Microsoft used IGN as a mouthpiece to issue a vague statement about us that was basically advertising for Reach.
-Even if a Microsoft PR person stated, “We are giving all 12 of the last Halo 2 players brand new Xbox 360s” they still wouldn’t be required to give us anything.

I’m not beholden to Microsoft, I just don’t think we’re in any position to demand anything. All we did was play Halo 2 past its expiration date. It was fun. We got early beta codes out of it. Let it be.

Mr. Snuffleupagus Says:

@HiredN00bs:
HiredN00bs: “I just don’t think we’re in any position to demand anything.”

Whose demanding? No where did I see anyone demand anything. Apache didn’t demand anything, not on Reddit, GamerCrave, his web page or in the two articles here on Nukezilla.

Where did I say you were having a pissing match? Seems you are seeing what you want to see and putting everyone down for disagreeing with you. I said nothing, you call it slander, I called you a troll. Seems we both have our points of view… doesn’t mean you have to be so mean and hurtful to people. Look how you treated MrBrad… you call it slander, I call it the way I saw things.

You saw something different than someone else and you battered and slandered that person and everyone else that didn’t have the same views as your own. Where I come from that is being a bully.

@xxBooker Dxx:
If you are the real Booker, I ask you to be more clear… are you saying that Apache is the scum of the earth like what the other posts say he is?

@HiredN00bs:
Seems xxBooker Dxx is not on the same side/page as you. So are you going to belittle him and trash talk him like you did with APACHE NASIR & Aaron, or with Mike, or with Mr. Snuffleupagus (myself) for not seeing eye to eye with you & your buddy AW?

By the way… where did it say Apache was doing great work? or is that something else you made up?

Denbyak Says:

This is to support Apache

Lord Odysseus11 Says:

I’ll probably regret adding my two cents into this argument, but I don’t think Microsoft owes us anything. As for Reach beta, the final 2 online were playing it with separate accounts while idling on H2. The rest of us were actually playing the game. I believe Dirty Cajun and I played the last actual game :P Ascension, if you were curious.

@Lord Odysseus11:
Lord Odysseus11 thanks for interjecting, but you are not 100% accurate. I only received my xbox360 PRO on May 7th (might have been the 6th, but it was a just before I went away for Mothers day weekend). Before that day I only had (and had access to) the one machine running Halo2, not multiple. Thank-you for confirming #2 was idling.

Lord Odysseus11 do you remember what day you were knocked out? Just curious. Thanks for adding your two cents!

xxBooker Dxx Says:

@HiredN00bs like Mr. Snuffleupagus said “Who is demanding anything?” Maybe you should go reread everything. This article just got me thinking what they meant.

@Mr. Snuffleupagus does it really matter what i think about Apache. I’m not going to get involved in there catfight.

HiredN00bs Says:

I guess I’m terrible at reading.

“The last Halo 2 (and original Xbox Live) player has confirmed to Nukezilla that neither he or any of the other final players, commonly known as “Nobel-12″, ever received any of their promised rewards from Microsoft. He has also confirmed that his attempts to contact Microsoft and Bungie have been met with silence.”

And by the way, the article has been edited since it was posted. Here’s the original article (care of Google):

“The last Halo 2 (and original Xbox Live) player has confirmed to Nukezilla that neither he or any of the other final players, commonly known as “Nobel-12″, ever received any of their promised rewards from Microsoft.

“I would like Microsoft to follow up with what everyone expected them to do with the statement that they put out.””

NoZart Says:

I am still somewhat baffled at what exactly was promised.

And why keeping a peer 2 peer connection alive while the connecting service has been disabled is an achievement worth anything. Snookie managing to cope with the duck phone was worth more because it actually needed problem solving skills, and not just leave a console running.

The noble-12 action itself is somewhat cool (lessened by the fact that there was idling involved) but it is not uncommon. Every MMO that got an appointed shutdown had a group of people celebrating until the very end, with stories and screenshots and whatnot. And no one ever got something out of it except some nice story to tell.

To be honest, the “noble-12″ were a much cooler crowd to me before all this “wah wah i didn’t get anything” bullshit started. What comes next? “I kept the packaging of this game in mint condition, i want a certificate, one year free live, beta codes and a xbox360!”

Yeah, Microsoft capitalized on this very small aspect (and if you still think that was some major achievement you really should get out of your house for once) in its PR – so frigging what? Companies do this all the time. PR = lies, and whoever takes one word of something like that serious is dimwitted, sorry. Especially if it is worded in a way that is SO vague that it really amounts to nothing at all.

P.S.: I am not a native speaker, so before this evolves in another 20 posts of grammar holocaust: If you find any errors, you can keep ‘em and shove ‘em where the sun wont shine.

@Mr. Snuffleupagus: Nice job parsing characters–if you can’t recognize the demands in the articles, then you don’t have reading comprehension. Get out of your Chinese room.

Seeing that the articles (all 4 that I’m aware of recently) are about me (but about you all in a round-about way) and directed towards me, along with the statement that I released to media outlets… nowhere does it state that I am demanding ANYTHING. I should know this because I WROTE IT!!
Both you HiredN00bs & Agent Windex have publicly stated I demanded and continue to demand things from Microsoft & Bungie, all of which in its self is a LIE. HiredN00bs, you stated to Mr. Snuffleupagus that he can’t recognize demands in the article? But recognizing and seeing are two different actions.

The only difference between what you “see” in the article and what hundreds of other people “see” in the Microsoft Press Release is in regards to the Microsoft statement, are actual words: “…therefore we are working to ensure they have everything necessary to participate in the Halo: Reach beta.” In the Microsoft statement there is room for interpretation (as they were not clear) and the reason and topic of the articles … in your view of the articles written in Nukezilla, Gamercrave, Reddit there are no words written to show your hypothesis as being fact just delusions and fiction from your subconscious mind.

This is not an attack on you as a person, I see it as a heated debate on the facts, That is how I see it. There is nothing wrong with you as a player, we just have conflicting views. Nothing is wrong with that. In my opinion. (Can’t wait to see how the trolls spin that last statement.)

HiredN00bs Says:

@APACHE N4SIR: I agree, from the beginning I’ve been primarily concerned with “the facts”, and I admit, I do get pulled in by the trolls as well. Posting a bunch of lies about me didn’t help your case, either, Apache.

Saying they aren’t “demands” is really just a matter of semantics, isn’t it? I used the word “demand” to mean “asking for something that is percieved deserved”, which I think applies in this instance (I’m not going to start looking up definitions because that’s not the point, and I’m explaining my meanining more clearly now, anyways).

Good luck in your efforts, I just don’t see them as worthwhile. I’m having trouble getting Best Buy to fulfill a bought and paid for service contract on my television, so getting Microsoft to answer for a vague PR snippet seems like a pipe dream to me.
