Chau Down and Dodge Balls With New Scott Pilgrim DLC
Saying I’m a fan of everything Scott Pilgrim-related is like saying the ocean is rather soggy. So today’s news from Destructoid about DLC for both XBLA and PSN versions of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game has got my loins all a’quiver.
The first part of the DLC reveals the final question mark-filled segment of the character select screen will be filled with the infatuated Knives Chau. She was relegated to a support character in the past, but will now become a full group member. This is fantastic, as I always felt Knives got short-changed in the game, only popping up every once in a while to support everyone. Now she’ll be another reason to go back to SPvTW:TG.
Any new character announcement is awesome, but there’s more to the DLC than just Knives. Two new game modes will also be included. Dodge Ball will force players to kill enemies using only a provided beach ball. This makes sense, as the characters share an aesthetic quality with the characters of Technos’ NES classic Super Dodge Ball. Battle Royale mode will also be added, where players square off against one another to see how long they can stay on a king-of-the-hill-like platform. Again, I’m all for any new game mode they want to create to extend play time. And Dodge Ball sounds like it could be rather entertaining.
Finally, a few (free) patches will be released alongside the DLC to fix difficulty issues and pestering bugs. No official date has been set for the DLC, but signs point to early November, right around the time of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World‘s DVD and Blu-Ray releases.

No word on them patching in online multiplayer… yes, that kept me from getting the game. :\
What about a PC version? :(
