‘The Writer’ DLC Dated And Trailer Released

A new trailer has been released announcing the final chapter in the Alan Wake story. This last piece of DLC advertises that it is time to “end the nightmare”–whether that means of the character or of the consumer who has to keep purchasing DLC to get to the end of the game is unclear.

The trailer offers a broad range of scenarios that include floating vehicles and woogly floors. The narrator opens with the line: “I can help you here. It’s like learning to control your dreams.” Hmm…working inside dreams seems to be a popular theme in entertainment these days.

You can trade your hard earned $7/560 MS points for “The Writer” on October 12th. Check out the trailer and decide for yourself whether or not this DLC tries to trespass into Inception territory.

Next up: Splinter Cell: Inception “INFILTRATING SHIT IN YOUR MIND”

Jack Frost Says:

That’s a great line about what nightmare will be ended with this DLC, Chelsea.

I’m not sure about the wisdom of releasing two follow-up chapters like this. I liked and finished the game pretty quickly and realized it had little replay, but I held onto it for over a month to get the first DLC which came free with the main game.

But after playing and not really liking much the first DLC, I don’t care about this second one and I’ve already traded the game.

I wonder how many were willing to sit on it still and wait for the end-to-the-story-that-we-all-know-won’t-actually-end?
