Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 Mac Support, New DLC and Comic Coming Soon
Earlier today, Destructoid reported on the latest episode of GameTrailers TV (spoilers for The Passing DLC), wherein a new campaign for both the original Left 4 Dead and its sequel was announced as upcoming downloadable content.
Called The Sacrifice, this new episode will detail the events that lead up to the events of The Passing — the previous installment of the story. Players will have to choose one of their own to make THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE in this chapter, though for continuity’s sake the official L4D canon says it was the victim of The Passing who officially bit the bullet.
The DLC will include No Mercy, which was a very popular campaign in the original Left 4 Dead, as part of this update. So, players who skipped over the original game and started with the sequel will get a chance to experience that part of the story.
Besides the new campaign (which will be free for both games for computer players, but will cost money on the Xbox 360), Mac users will be happy to learn that the Left 4 Dead games will finally be playable on Mac OS X. It’s unclear whether this will happen at the same time as the launch of the new DLC, but it’s good news for those who don’t like dealing with terrible operating systems.
One more tidbit: Valve is releasing a 150 page comic that predates the events of the original Left 4 Dead, and gives some backstory on the characters before they became survivors. Again, no word on a time-frame, but knowing Valve it could be any time between now and Marty’s arrival.

So Justin, how are those Snow Leopard Graphics updates that Valve made Apple do going?
Where’s my PS3 version, Valve?!
That picture is fantastic.
Extremely anxious for L4D on Mac. I parted with my Xbox in July and if I was in a place I could afford it there have been about 372 times I would have bought an Xbox again just so I could go back to L4D2. I have L4D and L4D2 on Steam, but that does me no good for now until they release it for Mac!
Also I love that concept of someone having to take the hit, I wonder how that will work gameplay wise.
