A (Free) Game of Headlines

What’s the point in collecting all the posts created by the games media if you don’t get to play with it? I thought about printing off all of the news, sprinkling water on it then rolling around in the resulting mess until it became a big mulchy paste. But then Chelsea had a better idea in the middle of the NZCast.

You are given the title of a recent post and you have to guess which site it belongs too. You can play it right now by going to http://wire.vg/whatsite (you don’t need to be signed up to Wire.vg to play). The minimum spec is that you’ve got cookies and JavaScript enabled. The game has four difficulty settings, and not really anything else.

I’ve been playing it for most of the afternoon and have surprised myself with how many headlines I’m able to match up. Granted some sites simply produce more articles so are more likely to be the right answer, but most of the time you (or rather I, as I seem to be in the minority if my Twitter polling is accurate) can just tell.

The odd use of a question mark, the topic of the post and even the word choice all make it an interesting test of your games media knowledge. So, if you’ve not done so already head over to http://wire.vg/whatsite and let us know how well/badly you do!

Best?

Actually quite a bit of fun. Maybe I’m just saying that because I’ve been playing Eve Online, though. All I’m saying is that my judgement is skewed right now.
