The Nukezilla Sunday Semi-Supplement – August 8th 2010

With Sam being on holiday there’s been nobody on the internet to read articles longer than a few hundred words. Whilst I could recommend podcasts that are useful when on an overnight transatlantic flight, I am one of the proles who’ve not read more than a sentence at a time this week. With that in mind, instead of Googleing up some articles that are probably good, I thought I would share a few great sites with you, fellow long-form readers.
As always, if you have found articles worthy of a brew and a read, do please leave them in the comments below.
Readability – An Arc90 Lab Experiment. Add one link to your bookmarks and never again read in discomfort. Using JavaScript and fancy font technology Readability converts the ad-infested, tiny-columned, stupid-fonted article you’re trying to read into enjoyably readable text.
Longform.org. As the FAQ reads “We post longform articles daily.” And it’s about as simple as that. They also provide a way for you to Read Later using Instapaper, a bookmarking system for classy people.
McSweeny’s Internet Tendency: Modern Yoga Poses. A collection of short, well written and original stories presented in a remarkably simple and easy to read fashion. If you’ve not read the books, the website is a good place to start.
And that should be enough to occupy your Sunday this week.

Longform.org is so awesome. I just hit “Read Later” on a load of different articles, then download an app on my phone which synced with Instapaper. Great way to read 10,000+ word articles.
