Guardian of Light to get Five DLC Packs
The game, due out on Xbox Live in a few weeks (and PC and PS3 late September) will not be launched with co-op and has five planned DLC packs, Crystal Dynamics have announced. The extra levels and character packs join already available Xbox avatar outfits and accessories on my list of “so that’s how you’re going to nickel and dime kids”.
Sorry, I retract my cynicism, it was uncalled for. The game’s co-op is being delayed to “provide the best possible online experience” and will be released in a (presumed free) update on September the 28th, the same day the non-Xbox versions come out.
No, wait, I retract my retraction. I’d love to be happy about the news that Lara Croft is getting all of these new toys. But when it’s announced that this quantity of extra content has been built to exist, but cost extra, it annoys me. Maybe I’m getting old, but whenever I hear DLC has been built before the main game ships and held back to make more money (as well as when the game makers have spent their time building could-be-free Avatar adverts for people to buy), my dislike for the developer and/or publisher increases.
Expect Guardian of Light to appear on Xbox Live on August 18th, and expect reviews scoring 90% or more to appear a few days before.

And you know at least the first two of those DLC packs will come in the initial download anyway.
