It’s nice on an incredibly slow news day to get a bit of info you’ve been waiting forever to hear.
The Netflix Instant Watch service on the PS3 finally got a search function added sometime today. This allows users to perform a basic search of all available Instant Watch titles. Users have been clamoring for this ability since the service started in November of last year. Before today, Netflix subscribers have only had access to a random assortment of newly-added Instant Watch titles, along with whatever films/TV shows they chose for their Instant Watch queue.
I’m incredibly excited about this news, since not a day goes by that I don’t use my Xbox 360 to watch a few episodes of Rocko’s Modern Life or MST3K. Unfortunately, only the PS3 users have search functionality…for now. 360 users will get the ability to search some time in November, according to Joystiq. At least the 360 users can still gloat over the fact that you need a disc to run Netflix on the PS3.

Not for long…
