Magiko Gaming Releases Trailer for XBLIG Title Platformance
A week ago, a YouTube trailer appeared for a new XBL Indie Game called PLATFORMANCE: Castle Pain. A few days later, Nathan Fouts of Mommy’s Best Games tweeted that he was playtesting this retro-style platformer and rather enjoying it, so I figured this title might be worth a little investigation.
Unfortunately, my attempts to find out more about the game have met dead ends. Magiko Gaming does not seem to have more than a Twitter and YouTube account. Their Twitter feed only has one post, announcing that the game is in playtest and will be released soon.
The YouTube description had only this to offer in terms of information:
Can you save the princess ? Will you get to the end of Castle Pain ? As an heavily armored knight you must succeed in various challenging platform goodness: Slalom between bird droppings, avoid giant fireballs, flee from the ghost, escape a giant octopus, brave blood thirsty bats and much more… Let the quest begin!
PLATFORMANCE : Castle Pain is an Xbox Live Indie Game coming soon.
According to images from the trailer and Nathan’s tweets while playtesting, this game offers up some cool controls–such as three different “zoom” settings to allow for different views of the level. Seeing the whole level within an ornately pixelated frame coupled with a chiptune soundtrack makes for an impressive first trailer. But the most exciting bit of news is that the trailer ends with the words “80 MS Points On Xbox Live Indie Games”.
