Battledrome Round 3: Ikaruga

The Battledrome score currently stands at a point each with myself claiming the prize for being better at Geometry Wars 2 and Wardrox being the best at flash game Winterbells. I believe I’ll make up for last week’s farce with a REAL game this time.

Ikaruga is this round’s game of choice and can be purchased from the Xbox LIVE Arcade here for 800 Microsoft moon dollars.

It’s a pretty run-of-the-mill shmup with bullet-filled screens and enemies that are affixed to a track, however Ikaruga uses a polarising mechanic which allows the player to absorb bullets of the same colour of their ship.

We’re playing the Arcade mode of the game, All chapters, normal difficulty, with the settings on default (this sounds ambiguous, but there’s a ‘default’ button under the settings menu which will align them back to their original selections).
