I realised, watching this video back, I’ve perhaps been a little harsh on The ‘Tak. The points that I used them as an example for apply to a lot of blogs. Most are far worse than Kotaku when it comes to posting what’s basically spam. But, with Kotaku being as successful as they are, they make for the best example.

Wardrox’s “I had a dream” speech is not nearly as memorable as Martin Luther’s speech.
It’s not that your point has become incoherent because you say it all the time, it’s that no matter how much we try to reason and ask blogs to not be shit, they don’t care and therefore do not change.
Also Negativegamer was a blog, because it functioned and looked like a blog. Nukezilla is so much more that I think we should elevate it’s status to “Website”, and not a blog.
John! What makes you think you are not the current generation, the way I see it what generation you are does not depend on what age you are, it depends on your views. For example my grandmother is very liberal and if she looked 60 years younger she’d fit right in my my crowd. She doesn’t even object to rock and roll and the internet! I agree with you John which either makes you my generation, or it makes me in yours.

Trying to be classy is definitely a good general rule, for everyone not just journalists.
I’m done school for the summer (and done High School FOREVER) so I’m trying to get a job that will give me money. Unfortunately they’re busy giving everyone else money.
Might just focus on my writing.
You’re never going to stop people trying to make a quick buck on the internet, nor stop websites publishing simple, irrelevant posts to garner more viewers and ad income. Carry on providing worthwhile articles though, hopefully it might take off someday =P
Had a good laugh watching England cock it up again. Probably get down to playing some of these Steam sale games, yay for cheap L4D2.

“Stay classy”… I’ll drink to that. Newsweek is my favorite magazine to read at doctor’s offices, hospitals, etc., so that’s a decent goal for the site.
