Dreamcast Games Coming to XBLA And PSN

Sega has announced that it will be bringing some of its Dreamcast games to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade stores.

Two games have been  announced so far; 2000′s Crazy Taxi and from way back from 1999, Sonic Adventure, which will be coming this autumn. Sega says that they’ll be giving the games a Perfect Dark style makeover, with improved graphics, surround sound, achievements and leaderboards.

I have fond memories of the Dreamcast - the little console that never really took off. Playing Quake online over a dial-up connection and using a keyboard to talk to everyone is something a still remember, and compared to today’s online capabilities, makes me laugh. I also played a game called Headhunter, which I recall had motorbikes and lots of shooting. I don’t remember any of the story, but frankly it had motorbikes, so it was awesome.

While I doubt they’ll bring back the smash hit that was Headhunter, it’s always nice to play games from your childhood. While I’ve not played Perfect Dark since it came out, sometimes 800 points is worth the 20 minutes of nostalgia rush.
