Farmville Makers And Facebook Falling Out

Be aware, this news comes via TechCrunch, a large tech blog who have a reputation for making things up to get traffic. They also have a somewhat strange relationship with Zynga, the company who have allegedly fallen out with Facebook. TechCrunch lead the way with the ScamVille stories (reporting on Zynga shafting their customers wherever possible for cash), before later giving the company loads of awards when it was clear they were successful.

Anyway, TechCrunch are reporting that Zynga may be splitting from Facebook over the 30% cut Facebook take from money made via the Facebook Credits system. Things have gotten to the point that the company’s CEO apparently held an emergency staff meeting late last week to discuss the fact that they may need to prepare for a break from Facebook.

Whilst it’s slightly too obvious TechCrunch are embellishing facts to get some drama out of the situation, it would be unlikely for the story to be completely unfounded.

Whilst it’s music to my ears to hear that an annoying and untrustworthy game company may be moving away from a social network I frequent, it’s a touch depressing the move is caused by their own greed rather than some kind of quality control.
