Wardrox VS Halfleft Battledrome Round 14: Shoot 1UP
Shoot 1UP is a ‘shmup’ (shoot-em-up) with many lasers coming from many ships. Also there are lazerboobs. We’ve also been lucky enough to have a nice chat with the developers responsible for it and are more than happy to support what we see as a pretty cool product.
Shoot 1Up can be purchased for the low low price of 80 Microsoft space bucks here, conversely you can find it on the XBL Marketplace.
The game is easy, start from the start in normal mode and keep going until you run out of ships/finish the game/collapse from malnutrition. Post your highest score here in the comments of this post. Best scores will be compared on the next NGCast!
Edit: Be sure to have your speed set on 100% too.
You’ll need to get your scores posted before Monday, because that’s when we record the show. The results will be announced, as usual, on the next episode of the NGCast (which should be going up on Tuesday morning).

Okay, played through got a good score.
I have some tips.
First of all, shield kill, super-expanded as much as you can. Several enemies yield 1mil drops on a shield-kill fully expanded.
Secondly, take the right paths, and always look for the score-pies.
Thirdly, wear down big enemies with normal shots (till they turn red) *then* shield kill them at the end. Works on bosses to, don’t miss their point drop hidden in the explosive chaos! (spread and move around).
Fourthly … super important.. fully expanded, shield-attack the pies! Don’t eat them!

I won’t be getting it on You tube any time soon due to the fact them i’m using a laptop without a firewire connection these days.
My cousin said I can use his though but being mothers day I don’t see it happening today.
Tip to those trying to get higher scores: getting the MBG pies and repeatedly attacking with your shield attack in expanded formation can yield enormous points blocks. For instance just on the first level it’s possible to get 80,000,000+ before the boss fight –
Not seeing MBG pies? just play better(get most enemies before they go off screen) or try different routes: on first stage go right to get pie – the hard part is repeat attacks in fully expanded formation & not raelly getting to the pies)
PS: you’re on your own for the other MBG pies found in game.

In my side I get difficulties after getting the MBG pies to have big points blocks, just one time…but not at each time :-(

If you like this game make sure to give Weapon of Choice(same Dev)a try – The artwork & graphics quality is much higher-end and tho the gameplay is quite different then Shoot1UP it is very fun to play.
(for only 240MSP = $3 US dollars it feels a lot like a gift as well)
