PSN Buckles as Users Try to… Erm, Use it
If you were Sony, and you had a few million people all using your online distribution service, one would think that by now you’d be pretty good at making sure that service worked.
In fact, it’d be fair to assume that if you were Sony, an entertainment giant of such goliath proportions as it is, you’d make sure that if you released something that a large number of your users were going to want, you’d probably make sure that your infrastructure was up to the business, wouldn’t you?
If you answered yes, then you and I think differently to the Japanese Ultratainment giant, who have had issues providing users with the new Modern Warfare 2 add-on pack since it went live.
It seems Sony are also having difficulty adding money to PSN wallets (Sony may not patronise us by making users buy proprietary FUN BUX like Microsoft, but still insist on needlessly complicating the transaction process somewhere). As a result of this, people are reporting money leaving credit cards but languishing in the void of Sony’s servers, accounts being locked and error codes, all while trying to download the new Modern Warfare Stimulus pack.
Sony’s response? Shut up and hang on a minute, basically:
Where the download or install failed customers should attempt to re-download and install during off-peak hours if possible
Which, surely, means that come ‘off peak’ times, world + dog will be hitting the service and trying again, creating a whole new ‘peak’ time?

It’s nice to see Sony doing their bit to annoy Activision.
Sometimes, it strikes me that Sony are doing their bit to piss off the entire world.
Why is anyone buying the Stimulus Pack anyway? FOOLS.
